Evidence has shown that vestibular rehabilitation can be effective in improving symptoms related to many vestibular/ inner ear disorders. If you are experiencing problems with vertigo, dizziness, visual disturbance, and/or imbalance, you may have a Vestibular Disorder. These symptoms may be present with nausea and/or vomiting, reduced ability to focus or concentrate, and fatigue. We aim to address these problems in vestibular rehabilitation programs. Our Vestibular Rehabilitation (VR) program is primarily designed to reduce vertigo and dizziness, reduce gaze instability, and/or reduce imbalance and fall risk as well as address any secondary impairments that are a consequence of the vestibular disorder. Call us if you need assistance to seek medical attention.
We use Biofeedback, the ultimate mind/body technique, to train you how to improve your health by using and interpreting signals from the body. Our highly sophisticated Biofeedback units provide a way for you to gain control of certain physical processes that are normally regarded as automatic from the nervous system. They monitor bodily responses, such as muscle tension or skin temperature, as the person tries to modify their response to stimuli. After you have used biofeedback, for instance, to develop your ability to recognize and reduce tension in your body with your highly trained physical therapist, you will be able to take these skills and apply them when you are under stress in your day to day life. Hydrotherapy is also known as aquatic therapy, water therapy, aquatic rehabilitation, aqua therapy, or pool therapy. Water creates ideal natural therapeutic environment. Warm water provides a relaxing and soothing environment for aching joints and muscles. Water’s natural viscosity or resistance can be used for muscle strengthening and increasing therapy progressions. Buoyancy reduces the effects of gravity on injured or aching joints and muscles. Hydrostatic pressure supports and stabilizes you, allowing you to perform exercises without a fear of falling, decreasing pain and improving endurance. Our therapists use turbulence and wave propagation to gently manipulate you through the desired exercises. The respiratory muscles are forced to work harder in the water, allowing for a natural strengthening that benefits you long after the therapy session has ended. Call/email us to find out more.
